Cinnamon Sugar Roasted Almonds

So, this may not be the healthiest way to eat almonds, but it sure is one of the tastiest.

These gorgeous Cinnamon Sugar Roasted Almonds taste just like those you buy at Christmas markets. Golden, crunchy and oh-so-sweet, they are wonderfully moreish and will satisfy any sweet-toothed cravings you may have.

Coated in a delicious mix of sugar, cinnamon and salt (how can you go wrong?) and using egg whites as a glue, these almonds will be gone in a matter of minutes.

I conveniently forgot how much sugar was on them and wolfed them down in seconds. Like I said, if you make these, they won't last for long...

I chose to ignore the impact on my waistline and, instead, focussed on the skin-boosting qualities of almonds. Any excuse, right?

Enjoy,

Ingredients:

1 egg white
1 tsp water
400g almonds
100g granulated sugar
Pinch salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Method:

1) Preheat oven to 120C, then line a baking tray with greased foil.

2) Lightly beat the egg white, then add the water and beat until frothy. Pour over the nuts, ensuring all are coated well. In a separate bowl, mix together the sugar, cinnamon and salt, then sprinkle over the nuts and toss together, before tipping into the tray.

3) Bake for one hour, turning the nuts every 15 minutes, until golden. Leave to cool, then dig in.
