Last week I was asked by Thorntons if I would like to have a go at playing Chocolate Secret Santa and nominate someone who I felt deserved a chocolatey treat.
Well, it was a no brainer who I was going to put forward to receive a gift box - it had to be my Mum.

You see, I have had a really tough time these last five months and lost most of my independence. It has been so upsetting I do not know how I would have got through it all without my Mum.
There have been many moments of complete despair, anger and times that I have wanted to give up. Many nights I have spent crying in agony and no longer able to cope with the pain, honestly, unless you have suffered a serious back injury you will never know how painful it is. Believe me, I would much rather give birth any day.
I do not know how I would have coped if it wasn't for my amazing mum - Eileen Hatfield.
My mum has helped me everyday, whether it was washing me whilst I sat on a chair in the shower, helping me to get dressed, attending my son's school assembly, taking me to hospital appointments, cleaning my house or cooking dinner for me and my two boys every evening. In fact, there are a whole lot more things she has done but I won't bore you with every single one.
Anyway, I would never have got through this dreadful period without my Mum, I have cried on her shoulder lots of times and she has picked me back up every single time. I cannot thank her enough.
My mum has been my hero.
I am eternally grateful to my mum for everything she has done and I have bought her many things to say thank you. It's always nice to show your gratitude and if I had more money I would be spoiling my mum rotten.
I am sure you have someone in your life who has been an absolute star who deserves a gift of appreciation too.
